Real-World Bike Mileage
A motorcycle's fuel economy changes with traffic, speed, terrain, load, maintenance and riding style. MotoConnect helps riders share mileage observations with the context needed to interpret them.
How to report mileage clearly
- Mention whether the figure is city, highway or mixed riding
- Describe traffic, average speed, terrain and approximate load
- Explain how the mileage was measured, such as a consistent tank-to-tank method
- Include the motorcycle model, variant and approximate kilometres ridden
- Treat a single tank reading as an observation, not a guaranteed figure
Why mileage figures vary
Stop-start traffic, high cruising speeds, steep climbs, tyre pressure, chain condition, weather and luggage can all affect fuel consumption. Compare reports from similar conditions rather than assuming every rider will get the same result.
Contribute a mileage report
Share only figures you personally measured or clearly label estimates. Add enough context for another rider to understand how the motorcycle was used.
